Every year, Bridgewater residents are asked to pay more. Every year, town leadership offers less accountability for how that money is spent. This year alone, the town pursued one of the largest override requests in its history, even as officials admitted the budget doesn’t fully close the gap in school funding. Meanwhile, the Town Council has repeatedly missed state budget submission deadlines and leaned on temporary emergency spending authorizations — a pattern that residents and finance committee members alike have called out for cutting the public out of decisions about their own tax dollars.

We started this site because Bridgewater taxpayers shouldn’t have to choose between funding basic services and watching their tax bills climb year after year with no clear plan, no real transparency, and no one held responsible when deadlines slip and budgets balloon. We believe in a town government that plans ahead, spends within its means, and treats every tax increase as a last resort, not as a first response to crisis.
